3rd Hour Announcements

ATTENTIONS GRADUATING SENIORS:

YOUR MANDATORY GRADUATION INFORMATION MEETING IS THIS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26TH DURING E.O.P.  YOU MUST REPORT TO THE AUDITORIUM BY 7:45AM, DOORS WILL CLOSE AT 8:00AM.  YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK IN THIS YEAR’S GRADUATING CEREMONY IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THIS MEETING.  PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND AS WELL.

 


ATTENTION SENIORS:

SENIORS:  Please remember graduation is rapidly approaching.  One of your requirements is to complete the senior contact form before April 28th.

If not received by 4/28, it will prevent you from gradation. The form is available in your student e-mail or the career center website.  If you need assistance please stop by the career center for help.  


If you still need to purchase your cap and gown, please stop by the Bookstore Window to request a packet.  Orders must be placed with Elite Southwest directly and the contact and order information is contained in the packet you will receive.


Spring Football:
All football players are to meet in Coach Millican's room, room 205, onMONDAY, APRIL 24th immediately after school!

Spring football practice begins on MONDAY, MAY 1st at 3:45pmIf you hope to play football next year, you MUST complete the wavier and team contract BEFORE practice starts. See Millican in room 205 for forms and information!


Hiking Club:
There will be a hiking club meeting Tuesday, April 25th, after school in room 1010.



Band Fundraiser:
Want dinner or dessert? Then come to the band booster fundraiser at 59th and Thunderbird on Tuesday, April 25th, from 4pm to 9pm. Go to Barros and Yogurtini and tell them you are with Moon Valley when you check out. This money helps fund the instrumental music program. 


  


Dance Tryouts:
Hey Rockets! 
Are you interested in becoming a Performance Dancer? Clinics are April 26th-27th from 3:30-5:30pmin the dance room. Tryouts are Friday, April 28th from 3:30-5:30pm. If you have any questions please see Ms. Sussex in the dance room.


 

Attention Sophomores: GCC is offering a 2 year scholarship for your junior and senior years of high school to attend college classes on Saturdays. Please pick up a flyer in the Counseling Center or Career Center if you are interested in learning more about the program. Some of the criteria are:

  • have a GPA over 2.0
  • you may be the first person in your family to attend college
  • you live in a single parent household
  • you qualify for free or reduced lunch


Attn: Sophomores and Juniors
Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange Program is looking for students to spend 3 weeks in the summer at one of our sister cities being an exchange student. If you are interested, see Mrs. Irwin in the counseling office this week.

Scholarship Opportunity:

No Bull Sports Scholarship is excited to offer a scholarship to a deserving female high school sophomore, junior, or senior who will be pursuing an athletic endeavor in college. See Mrs. Irwin in the counseling center if you are interested.


Sidewalk Sale:
Moon Valley's Gay Straight Alliance/LGBT + Alliance will be holding a sidewalk sale this Saturday, April 29th, from 8:30am-12:30pm, in the east parking lot.  Please come join us.



Think Kindness:

Being Kind means being selfless. Help our movement to be kind by donating new or slightly used shoes to your first hour class for our Think Kindness Event. All shoes are accepted for any age, but tennis shoes or flats are preferred. Do some spring cleaning and help Africa at the same time. You can make a difference! 


Blood Drive:
Our third and final blood drive is Friday, May 5th. Save a life today and sign up to donate blood. See any stuco member for a form, or stop by to see Ms. Serafini in room 206. Forms will also be available at lunch Wed-Fri. 



Jazz Band:

Yesterday the Moon Valley Jazz Band competed at the State Jazz Festival. The Rockets came away with the highest rating given, a Superior with Distinction. 

Junior Carranza was awarded the "outstanding soloist award" for his performance at the festival. The jazz band will finish up the year at their home concert on May 9th with the orchestra and symphonic band. 

Once again, congratulation jazz band! 


Badminton Open Gym:
