The Moon Valley Robotics Team recently conducted a scrimmage in preparation for their upcoming SkillsUSA Mobile Robotics Competition. In all, 21 teams from 5 schools participated representing Cortez, Greenway, Independence, Sunnyslope and our very own Rockets. SkillsUSA is an organization which partners with students, teachers, and industry in order to strive for a skilled workforce. All of the Glendale Union High School teams gathered at Moon Valley where Dr. Lora Zimmer led the group in a session which allowed them to construct robots and test their functionality. Said senior Crystal Ottoway of the scrimmage, “It was successful.” And junior, Marcos Gonzalez added that “there was a lot of learning about fixing robots.” They both felt that they were able to trouble-shoot which will serve them well at competition. Good luck to our future engineers and we know that they will represent Moon Valley and Glendale Union well.
