Like most institutions, Moon Valley has a mission statement.  Preparing each student for higher education by ensuring all students reach their full potential in every class.  The high expectations adopted in the classroom to prepare students for college life are augmented by our Career Center.  This office which is available to both students and parents offers an array of information about college preparation.  From the moment students arrive on campus, they are invited into the Career Center to insure they are on the track for achieving their goals.

High School graduates have a vast array of choices when it comes to higher education.  Whether it’s a trade school that will fast track the student into a profession, military service, a community college, or a traditional university setting, we want our students to be able to sort through the options and determine the best course for them.  There are many considerations like what requirements a particular school has for its applicants, how will tuition be paid, scholarship and grant opportunities, and perhaps even investigating what area of study to pursue.

One way of helping our students to sort this out is through college visits coordinated by our Career Center Specialist, Ms. Marshall.  Recently, students toured Grand Canyon University where they were able to get a feel for college life.  There are more trips in the works to other local college campuses, so students should stay tuned for announcements inviting them to participate in tours for schools they might be interested in attending.

The purpose of the Moon Valley High School Career Center is to provide students with information in career exploration, career/job skills, college admissions, financial aid, military interests and general post-secondary education planning.  Students and parents are encouraged to contact our Career Center for help and resources.  Ms. Bethany Marshall can be reached at 623-915-8055.
