Crystal Ottoway was given an award on April 25th by ASU Polytech, College of Technology and Innovation. Her award was in recognition of her excellence, innovation and passion in the field of engineering and robotics.  Crystal Ottoway was nominated for this award because she enthusiastically embraces STEM innovation in her life and education. Crystal is an outstanding student and she participates in many extra-curricular activities. She takes AP and honors courses and is highly regarded by her teachers. She is a member of our Moon Valley Robotics Team, the Science and Engineering Club, The National Honors Society and Theatre. Crystal is an officer and “senior” member of the robotics team placing 3rd at in the Arizona SkillsUSA Championships in the mobile robotics competition. Crystal collects science text books and experiments with ideas she has at home. Crystal plans to study Astrophysics in college.
In addition, Crystal was chosen among all of the female honorees to receive the award and a scholarship presented by the Women in Science and Engineering.
