Each year, the City of Phoenix, recognizes an outstanding young man or young woman in each district.  This program is designed not only to recognize outstanding achievement, but also helps to promote the reputation of our youth and to raise awareness about the positive contributions young people make in our community.

On May 8th, Erin Brown-Vincent and Madison O’Neal received the Outstanding Young Woman of the Year Award.  Erin won in District 1 and Madison for District 5.  Each young lady competed with other teens, completing an application and interview process as well as submitting a letter telling about the teacher who had most influenced them.  Honorees were able to invite their parents along with that special teacher to the luncheon where they received their awards.  For their contributions to the community they each received $250 for the furtherance of their education.

Congratulations to these two young women and Moon Valley is sure that this is just the beginning of great things to come.
