February 2015
On January 18th,
restaurant chain PF Chang’s, sponsored its annual charity run. The event actually benefits several different
charities and attracted over 22,000 runners.
Entrants had the choice of running a full marathon or a half marathon
with all skill levels participating. The
race featured a full spectrum of people from children, people who just wanted
to walk the course on up to serious athletes who ran the marathon to win prize
money.
The Moon Valley Pomline
proudly represented their club and the Rockets for the half marathon
route. They started the morning bright
and shiny and arrived at 6:30 AM to create signs and chalked words of
encouragement on the sidewalks. The
girls fully embraced the theme of the marathon which was “Rock ‘n Roll” adopting
80’s rocker personas. Then as racer
passed by the ladies amped up the energy by running short distances with them,
cheering for them and even dancing to the rock ‘n roll themed music. There wasn’t a better qualified group to invigorate
the runner’s spirits and we are proud that the Moon Valley Pomline could be a
positive force at this event.
